Super Savings

Have you ever debated as to whether or not to host your child’s birthday party at home? This is a common consideration as parents enter into the process of planning their child’s birthday party. We often hear conversations from parents as they weigh out the costs involved in hosting a home party in McAllen, TX or a party at a center like Jump Up for Fun.Party

While many parents begin their planning with a financial budget in mind, monetary cost is not the only element that they must consider in planning for a child’s birthday party. In addition to financial cost, families must also decide if they are willing to spend the time involved in hosting an in-home party, and if they have the space available. Let’s look a little closer at each of these areas!

Time

When planning your child’s birthday party, you must consider how much time you are willing to spend in planning, preparing, and recovering. We’ve heard from numerous parents that they would prefer not to have a birthday party in their home due to the amount of time it takes. Many of the tasks that we’ve heard take up the largest amount of time include grocery shopping, food preparation, house cleaning, and activity planning.

Space

As parents and children consider their guest lists, many find that it is hard to make a small intimate list. Often children’s birthday parties have guest lists that are extended to friends, classmates, cousins, family members, and neighbors. As the list adds up it is important to consider if you have enough space in your home to host such a crowd.

Financial

When parents compare how much money they spend in feeding the birthday party guests, and renting or hiring out any entertainment elements (such as a bounce house or a visiting princess) they find that the amount can become a small fortune. We’ve heard over and over that parents like the idea of saving money with a home party, but they find that they end up spending more with that option.

The kicker, is that as they find themselves spending more in finances for a home birthday party, they also find that they are spending much more time and energy focusing on the details. Instead, what they really want is to just enjoy the day and make sure it is special for their little one!
